A recent report indicates that a new botnet called dark_nexus that could potentially affect D-Link routers. The reported security issue is currently under investigation by D-Link. D-Link will provide updates as soon as it has more information.
We strongly recommend users take the following actions to mitigate the risk of attack:
1. Update your router to the latest firmware available and reset to factory default settings.
2. Make sure the Remote Access feature of the router remains factory-default disabled (off).
3. Set a unique, complicated password for your router
