(non-US) DSL-2888A & DVA-2800 :: H/W Rev. T :: CVE-2020-27862 :: dhttpd Command Injection RCE & & CVE-2020-27863:: dhttpd Authentication Bypass Vulnerability

Overview

 

On June 12, 2020, a 3rd party security researcher team, Trend Micro's Zero Day Initiative, submitted two vulnerability reports accusing the (non-US) DSL-2888A and (non-US) DVA-2800 Hardware Revision T using firmware v3.20_AU. First vulnerability, ZDI-CAN-10911, is a Command Injection Remote Code Execution via dhttpd feature on the devices. The second vulnerability, ZDI-CAN-10912, is Authentication Bypass via dhttpd feature on the devices.  These vulnerabilities were confirmed and patches were issued too close these issues.  Please find the beta/hotfix release below

                          - Affects (non-US) DSL-2888A and (non-US) DVA-2800 Hardware Revision T using firmware v3.20_AU.

                          - dhttpd and libstarter.so binaries are vulnerabile to a authentication bypass caused by lack of path

                                    sanitization prior to URL matching.
