Overview

On February 7, 2021, a 3rd party security research submitted a report accusing the DSL-6800z F/W DVA-6800z_A1_WI_20210604 deployed with WIND 3 Service Provider in Italy of having a hard-coded credential vulnerability. This vulnerability was confirmed and a patch was issued too close the reported issues.  Please find the beta/hotfix release below.

              This vulnerability exists in Realtek xPON RTL9601D SDK 1.9 stores passwords in plaintext which may allow attackers to possibly gain access to the device with root permissions via the build-in network monitoring tool and execute arbitrary commands.
