Overview
On March 25, 2022, Realtek Semiconductor publicly disclosed (CVE-2022-27255) the Realtek eCos RSDK 1.5.7p1 and MSDK 4.9.4p1 for the RTL819x Chipset Family, has a SIP ALG function that rewrites SDP data that can be used as an attack-vector for stack-based buffer overflow. This allows an attacker to unauthenticed remotely execute code via a crafted SIP packet that contains malicious SDP data.
As soon as D-Link was made aware of the reported security issues, we had promptly started our investigation and began developing security patches.
Affected Versions:
- rtl819x-eCos-v0.x Series
- rtl819x-eCos-v1.x Series
Access Vector:
- High Security Risk by crafting anoverly long arguments in a specific SIP packet.
D-Link takes the issues of network security and user privacy very seriously. We have a dedicated task force and product management team on call to address evolving security issues and implement appropriate security measures.
