Overview
On September 2, 2022, 3rd party security researcher from the Art Resilla reported the D-Link (Non-US) DIR-825 hardware revision Rx with firmware version v1.33.0.44ebdd4-embedded as having an buffer overflow vulnerability.
As soon as D-Link was made aware of the reported security issues, we had promptly started our investigation and began developing security patches.
D-Link takes the issues of network security and user privacy very seriously. We have a dedicated task force and product management team on call to address evolving security issues and implement appropriate security measures.

The D-Link DIR-825 Rev. Rx router contains a buffer overflow vulnerability in the method "GetConfig" from jsonrpc service under the /CPE endpoint crashes after receiving the well-aligned payload. This crash is associated with the deuteron service also running on the server-side.
