(Non-US) DAP-X1860 :: Rev. Ax :: F/W v1.01b05-01 and below :: CVE-2023-45208 :: LAN-Side Device - Command Injection

Overview

 

On October 11, 2023, D-Link became aware of CVE-2023-45208, a command injection vulnerability affecting the (Non-US) DAP-X1860 WiFi Extender hardware revision Ax with firmware versions v1.00, v1.01b94, and v1.01b05-01.

This is a LAN-Side device as a Wireless Extender and not designed to be placed directly on the internet, so the CVE is not a Remote as in WAN attack vector.  The malicious user would need access to the home's WiFi to execute this vulnerability.

 

As soon as D-Link was made aware of the reported security issues, we had promptly started our investigation and began developing security patches.

 

D-Link takes the issues of network security and user privacy very seriously. We have a dedicated task force and product management team on call to address evolving security issues and implement appropriate security measures.
