Overview
On April 20, 2024, a 3rd party security researcher, informed D-Link Corporation, of the D-Link Router (Non-US) DSL-X1852E (firmware vEG_1.00b09) with potential vulnerabilities.
As soon as D-Link was made aware of the reported security issues, we had promptly started our investigation.
D-Link takes the issues of network security and user privacy very seriously. We have a dedicated task force and product management team on call to address evolving security issues and implement appropriate security measures.

Description:
- Firmware EG_1.00b09 and prior versions. Is affected by misconfigured file permissions that can allow a malicious user with LAN-side access to privilege escalation and full access to the device without knowing the root password (unautheticated).
